Genovese Joblove & Battista, P.A. (GJB), a Florida-based, multi-practice law firm representing clients in regional, national, and international matters, today announced the addition of associates Thaddeus R. Kleckley and Jennifer Zinn Beraha, strengthening the firm’s litigation, receivership and franchise practice areas.
Kleckley brings to GJB proven experience, having defended and provided strategic counsel to companies, financial institutions and individuals in internal, criminal and regulatory investigations and litigation. His experience will make him an asset to the firm’s receivership, white collar and litigation practice groups. Zinn Beraha, who focuses her practice on commercial litigation and franchise law, comes to GJB after serving as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Jonathan Goodman at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
“We are delighted with the addition of these two exceptional attorneys,” said GJB Founding Shareholder John H. Genovese. “Thaddeus has already hit the ground running and we are confident our clients will reap the benefits of his strategic and legal skills. We also have the privilege of bringing Jennifer on board, who is set to enhance our already formidable franchise practice group. .”
Kleckley was previously with Sidley Austin LLP and Morvillo Abramowitz Grand Iason & Anello PC, where he distinguished himself directing internal investigations and sensitive reviews for clients in the United States, Asia, Europe, Africa and Latin America. He also represents clients in an array of complex commercial litigation in federal and state courts, as well as in arbitral forums. Kleckley maintains an active pro bono practice providing representation for criminal clients and in landlord-tenant and family law disputes. A recipient of many awards for his pro bono advocacy, he was most recently honored as a 2021 Pro Bono Publico by The Legal Aid Society. A Cornell Law School graduate, he also served as a Managing Editor of the Cornell Journal of Law and Public Policy. Kleckley is a member of the New York Bar and also received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington in 2010.
“I’m very much looking forward to bringing GJB clients the highest quality of counsel, a level that those who turn to GJB have already come to expect,” said Kleckley. “Joining this distinguished team is a deeply meaningful career milestone for me.”
Zinn Beraha served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Judith G. Dein at the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. A member of the Florida Bar, she received her juris doctor from the Boston University School of Law in 2014. Honored as one of South Florida’s “40 Under 40 Outstanding Lawyers” by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Zinn Beraha participated in GJB’s summer associate program in 2013. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in history and art history from Emory University in 2011.
“Having had the pleasure of participating in GJB’s summer associate program nearly a decade ago, I’m especially thrilled to now join the firm,” said Zinn Beraha. “I look forward to strengthening the firm’s litigation and franchise practices and bringing clients the support they have long counted on from GJB.”
