Jonathan E. Perlman heads the firm’s Receivership, Class Action and Securities Litigation practice groups. In addition to administering receiverships, Jonathan’s practice focuses on fraudulent and deceptive practices, franchising, securities and accessibility issues.

Jonathan has served as a Federal Court-Appointed Receiver in numerous actions brought by the SEC, FTC and Florida Attorney General. He currently serves as Receiver over the TCA Fund Management Group Corp., et al. fraudulent scheme engaged in revenue recognition practices, and the GDP Network LLC, G & G Success LLC, G & N Squared LLC multi-million dollar nationwide credit card interest rate reduction scam in violation of the FTC Act, the Telemarketing Sales Rule, and the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act.

Jonathan is responsible for having recovered millions of dollars for victims of fraudulent schemes, including the Creative Capital investment Ponzi scheme, the 321 Loans massive fraudulent debt relief operation, the All Dreams scheme defrauding consumers with false promises of "free" vacations, the Hispanic Global Way fraudulent weight loss product scheme, and the World Patent Marketing invention promotion services scam.

He serves on the board of directors of the National Association of Federal Equity Receivers (NAFER), where he also chairs NAFER's Best Practices Committee and serves on its regulatory outreach, judicial outreach, annual conference and international committees. He is also a member of INSOL International.

Jonathan is “AV” rated by Martindale-Hubbell and is a member ofthe American Bar Association Forum on Franchising and theInternational Franchise Association. The Franchise Times hasrepeatedly named him a “Legal Eagle,” recognizing the top 100 U.S.franchising attorneys, and he has also been recognized numerous times in Who’s Who Among U.S. Attorneys, and as a “Super Lawyer”in Super Lawyer.

Jonathan regularly lectures and writes articles regarding receiverships, class actions and franchise litigation. He spoke atNAFER’s inaugural Webinar in August 2020 titled “Takedowns and Takeaways in Federal Receiverships,” at the March 2020 NAFER Annual Offshore Conference, at the 2019 International Franchise Association Legal Symposium in Washington, D.C. on Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility actions, and at the 2018 NAFER Annual Conference in Chicago on protection of receivership assets.

Jonathan serves on the Foundation board of directors of FloridaInternational University. He also served for 14 years on the board of directors of Biscayne Bank, a $1 billion community bank that he co-founded, where he chaired the bank’s compensation committee and served on its compliance and audit committees. He serves on DukeUniversity’s Admissions Advisory Committee and is a director andpast president of the South Florida Duke University Alumni Association.

Jonathan graduated from the University of Florida College of Law in1988, and received his bachelor’s degree, cum laude, with specialdistinction honors from Duke University in 1985.
