Mr. Hugo Nemirovsky practices in the area of corporate finance, specializing in securities and corporate finance, with emphasis in private and public offerings of securities and merger and acquisitions. He represents domestic and foreign companies listed at the Caracas Stock Exchange. He is an arbiter of the Caracas Chamber of Commerce (affiliated with the ICC) and has been involved in a number of national and international arbitrational procedures. He is a consultant at the World Bank.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Nemirovsky was with the law firm of Ruden, McClosky, Smith, Schuster & Russell, S.C. and a partner at the Caracas Law Firm Wallis & Mendez. He was also legal counsel of the Venezuelan National Securities Commission and served as a consultant on securities regulations at the Interamerican Institute of Capital Markets.

In addition, Mr. Nemirovsky served as a consultant at the Interamerican Development Bank in Washington, D.C., where he coordinated the Western Hemisphere Financial Markets Survey and acted as special counsel to Central American Countries on Securities Regulations. He also acted as special consultant to the Attorney’s General Office to assist in the Venezuelan restructuring debt known as the “Brady Plan.”

Mr. Nemirovsky is a published author of the book "Ley de Mercado de Capitales", published in Caracas in 1989. Additionally, he authored the article (with Jesse Wright) “Issues Surrounding Securities Regulations in Latin America and the Caribbean.” Mr. Nemirovsky also co-authored the Capital Markets Law amendment, a draft of the Uniform Public Offer of Securities Law (with INTAL), and several other articles in Venezuela and the United States. He teaches Evidence, Contracts and Capital Markets at the Andres Bello Catholic University, Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate courses.

Mr. Nemirovsky is a member of the Venezuela Bar and admitted to practice before the Federal District of Caracas. He received his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Andres Bello Catholic University, Caracas, Venezuela in 1979. He continued his legal education at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA where he earned a Master of Comparative Law degree in 1981.
