Barry P. Gruher specializes in the areas of complex bankruptcy and commercial litigation in the bankruptcy federal district and state courts, including assignment for the benefit of creditors, business reorganization, creditor workouts and creditors/debtor rights. Mr. Gruher has extensive experience in representing debtors, creditors, trustees and other interested parties in Chapter 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcy cases, and related adversary proceedings involving objections to discharge and dischargeability of debts, fraudulent transfer and preference actions, together with contested matters and involuntary bankruptcy litigation. In addition, his practice also focuses on bankruptcy and state court appeals, general corporate, real estate and transactional matters.
Mr. Gruher has previously served on the Local Rules Committee for Chapter 7 cases for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of Florida, and has number of reported decisions from the bankruptcy courts in the Southern District of Florida and state court of appeals. He is an active member of the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the Southern District of Florida, Palm Beach County Bar Association and Business Law Section of the Florida Bar.
Mr. Gruher is a member of the Florida Bar and is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. Mr. Gruher earned his Juris Doctor degree in 1992 from the University of Miami School of Law and Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Sciences Degree from the University of Florida in 1988.
