Bado and other Task Force members will advise County commissioners on leveraging cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. The Task Force is the first body charged with such a mission in the United States.
“I am excited and honored to take on this historic appointment and play a role in helping chart the County’s path forward for use of this breakthrough technology,” said Bado.
Bado joins other appointees in advising the commission on the feasibility of paying County employees with cryptocurrency and best practices for the technology’s use as a form of payment for County taxes, fees, and services, along with other recommendations. Bado will also be analyzing and advising commissioners on evolving cryptocurrency and blockchain technology regulatory issues.
A senior associate at GJB, Bado concentrates his practice on complex litigation and arbitration matters in the U.S. and abroad, including cases involving securities, receiverships, commercial disputes and matters before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
Bado, a first generation Costa Rican-American, is a graduate of the United States Military Academy who led NATO and United Nations peacekeeping patrols in Bosnia and North Macedonia. He obtained his law degree from Florida International University and also has an MBA in International Business and Finance from the University of Miami. Prior to joining GJB, Bado was an executive in the financial services industry working in mergers and acquisitions, private and retail banking, and is a published author on the financial industry and its duties to investors.
