Attorney John H. Genovese Has Been Appointed To The Federal Judicial Nominating Commission
MIAMI – March 5, 2009 – Attorney John H. Genovese, a shareholder of Genovese Joblove & Battista, P.A., has been appointed to the Federal Judicial Nominating Commission, by the United States Senate.
Upon the request of the President of the United States, Florida’s two United States Senators provide to the president the names of persons to be considered for federal judicial and law enforcement positions that require nomination the President and confirmation by the Senate.
Tentatively, the Commission will identify qualified candidates for US District Judges, U.S. Attorney and US Marshal. The new Obama administration expects more federal vacancies to become available in the near future.
Mr. Genovese is head of the firm’s reorganization and insolvency practice. He is a member of the Florida Bar and is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He also served as law clerk for former US District Court Chief Judge Norman Roettger.
